You will want to start out slow and work your way up. Do not hit the paved roads and recreational trails until you have conquered your patio or driveway. And I use the term, hit, literally. If you are like many adults who have not been active physically for several years, it may take some time for you to get your balance on skates, so be prepared. But it is like riding a bicycle, you will eventually learn how to balance and control your speed.
