August 29, 2003, Newsletter Issue #160: Understanding Stress

Tip of the Week

Stress is not something that happens to you, it is what you do with what happens to you. Take a few moments to relax and do some deep breathing exercises to help your body deal with the situation. Decide you are going to control the situation, not let it control you. And you begin by controlling how your body reactions to it, and calming it down. Then you can think more clearly and calmly, and are better able to deal with it or find a solution.
