May 18, 2007, Newsletter Issue #231: Suicidal Children

Tip of the Week

Be aware that the least likely person that a suicidal child will talk to about any mental health problems are school counselors or teachers; they will most likely talk to other teens. Teacher education and peer support is necessary. Parents need to stay actively involved in their childīs life and be alert for signs of suicidal tendencies.
