Protecting kids from negative influences isnīt the only incentive for adults to offer them a better out-of-school experience. Enrichment is another reason. Organized out-of-school activities "can introduce youth to new interests, support emotional growth, improve their academic performance, build and maintain healthy bodies, and develop healthy relationships with their peers and caring adults," said Mildred Kiefer Wurf, in Senate testimony on behalf of Girls, Inc and the National Collaboration For Youth.
