Dr. Kant reports in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that “Numerous studies show a diet low in fats and sweets and high in fiber, fruits and vegetables can improve overall health and reduce the risk of several chronic and life-threatening illnesses, including obesity, heart disease, and cancer.” In other words, we need to cut way back on the junk food being consumed daily by Americans.
