Being able to participate in extracurricular activities is important to your child in developing self esteem. However, the cost of these activities can be prohibitive to single parent families. Before you write off placing your child in an activity, especially one with a local or national organization (Little League, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.) check with the organizer in your area or the area office.
