Every year purchase a special ornament for each child in the family. (Be sure to keep a written record of who got what to avoid future arguments.) Let each child have the privilege of placing his/her own special ornaments on the tree. Later in life when your child marries and leaves home, they will have a collection of ornaments to take with them as a reminder of all the wonderful holidays your family spent together.
