In these days of fast-food mania, it is easy to forego nutrition for convenience. Find ways to add healthy foods into your diets. For after-school snacks, make sure there are plenty of already washed, cut-up veggies and fruits. Prepackaged baby carrots are just the right size. Add some fat-free ranch dressing (already poured into a dipping container for them) along with some celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, or whatever your kids will eat. If it is ready for them to eat, they are likely to chow down on that than on something that takes time to fix. After all, fun anxiously awaits them after a hard day at school.
